NWS includes Northern Monterey Bay and the Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast in a Heat Advisory. Pacific Grove's point forecast calls for highs near 80°F Wednesday and 76°F Thursday. Hydrate, check on heat-sensitive neighbors and limit strenuous outdoor activity to cooler hours.

Stay off piers, jetties and rocks, remain out of the water and never turn your back on the ocean. No Pacific Grove beach closure has been announced.

Its patient record confirms a recent Asilomar sea-lion case and a Pacific Grove fur seal with abnormal behavior. Stay at least 150 feet away and report distressed animals to 415-289-7325.

The Timber Fire closure farther north has been lifted. This is not a through-route reopening; use an alternate route.

Both endangered birds, recently recovered from lead poisoning, flew off successfully. The San Francisco Chronicle independently reported the dangerous trip through the fire area. Ventana's Discovery Center at Andrew Molera State Park remains closed until further notice.

MBARD confirms that wildfire smoke can shift quickly and recommends its live particulate network.
