A private source log attributed a reported stolen-vehicle alert, stop and impound near Lighthouse Avenue and 17th Street on Aug. 25 at about 8:45 p.m. to a Flock hot-list hit. At 2:17 p.m. Aug. 26, Pacific Grove Police Department told MyPG.news that its officers did not respond to a stolen-vehicle call matching that date, timeframe or area.
PGPD status: no matching call found for the details supplied. Reported Flock outcome: unconfirmed. MyPG.news is not counting this as a confirmed Flock recovery unless an incident record or responsible agency confirms the stop and impound. The conflict remains a neutral accountability data point.

Supervisors pause a proposed 103-camera, 10-year agreement
The official Monterey County item would consolidate 63 existing Sheriff’s Office cameras and add 40, for 103 cameras under a proposed $2.781 million agreement running through August 2036. The Sheriff’s Office says the matter was continued to Sept. 22 after more than 30 questions prompted additional review, and it is inviting in-person or virtual public participation. KSBW and independent Monterey County reporter Chris Cerney reported on the privacy, security and cost concerns raised around the proposal.

The proposed agreement includes restrictions on federal and out-of-state sharing; that is a proposed safeguard, not proof of past compliance.

Packet puts a $60,000 police purchase and procurement thresholds before council
Staff recommends up to $60,000 from the existing police SLESF fund for a virtual-reality training system, with no additional appropriation.
