CURRENT FILE

What this desk is tracking.

New information is added when it changes what residents know, what they need to do, or how a public decision should be understood.

FLOCK ACTIVITY MONITOR

Thirty days in motion.

A source-linked record of Pacific Grove’s rolling Flock totals. This is an experimental vehicle-activity indicator—not an exact traffic count and never a record of individual drivers.

ROLLING 30-DAY DETECTIONSBASELINE PENDINGCollection begins with the next verified portal reading.
NET DAILY MOVEMENTNew detections minus records leaving the rolling window.
ESTIMATED NEW ACTIVITYNet change plus an estimated one-thirtieth daily rolloff.

How adjustment worksBecause the portal reports a rolling 30-day total, records expire continuously. Until daily source data are available, the monitor estimates normal rolloff as one-thirtieth of the previous total. The estimate will always be labeled.

What triggers reportingUnusual changes prompt checks of police releases, arrest logs, closures, events and other public sources. A numerical change alone is never reported as a police incident.
