What readers need to know
Pacific Grove residents who use the county’s Seaside Community Benefits office should plan for a service change later this month. The County of Monterey’s official benefits page lists limited services at 1281 Broadway Avenue in Seaside from October 26 through October 30, with the office closed as of Monday, November 2.
Beginning November 2, limited services will be provided at the Coastal Satellite Office, 2620 1st Avenue in Marina, according to the county notice. The benefits branch handles programs including CalFresh, CalWORKS, General Assistance and Medi-Cal. The notice does not specify which services will be limited, so clients should confirm their needs before making a trip.
The county lists telephone applications at 877-410-8823 and online applications through BenefitsCal.com. Documents can be submitted online through DSSupload.com or BenefitsCal.com. These options give eligible Pacific Grove residents alternatives to traveling to an office during the transition.
