AT A GLANCE
Pacific Grove's Architectural Review Board meets Tuesday, September 8, at 3 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber, 300 Forest Avenue, with Zoom access. Its three public hearings cover a 266-square-foot sunroom addition at 37 Companion Way; four two-bedroom apartments proposed above the existing commercial building at 525 Lighthouse Avenue; and demolition of one home followed by two new one-story homes and removal of two trees at 1006 and 1008 Funston Avenue. Staff recommends approval of each permit subject to the findings, conditions and listed CEQA exemptions. The board will also elect a chairperson and consider its August 11 minutes.
The Planning Commission meets Thursday, September 10, at 6 p.m. at the same location with Zoom access. Its public hearings cover exterior and site-plan amendments at 1661 Sunset Drive; amendments to an approved remodel, garage, bedroom addition and accessory dwelling unit at 121 10th Street; setback variances and permits for 715 Ocean View Boulevard; and demolition of a 1,716-square-foot house followed by a 2,952-square-foot three-story house and one tree removal at 408 16th Street. Staff recommends approval of all four items subject to the specified findings and conditions. The staff reports state that the financial impact is not applicable. The commission will also receive its quarterly report and an update on Permanent Local Housing Allocation grant funding.
The agendas are proposals, not approved actions. Public comments related to an item may be made at the hearing. The city recommends emailing written communications by 9 a.m. on the day before each meeting so members have time to review them.
